Even if it doesn’t seem like it’s been that long, Donald Trump has now been in office for six months, and on the occasion of him having been in office for that long, he posted a tweet — because, of course he did.

He posted a video montage of his speeches from the last six months, captioning it by writing:

‘I am asking all citizens to believe in yourselves, believe in your future, and believe, once more, in America.’

Trump’s hyped up message of putting the interests of his base of “loyal American citizens” above those of everyone else is volatile because it leaves out everyone who doesn’t fit Trump’s mold. If you need a bit of help, if you’re poor or otherwise downtrodden — too bad, so sad. This governing philosophy is what allows the Republicans to continue on with pushing their health plan that will strip over twenty million people of their health coverage should it become law.

In the video, like the toxic, Nazi-esuqe nationalist that he is, Trump says:

‘From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land. From this day forward, it’s going to be only America First! America First!… All the nations of the world, friend or foe, will find that America is strong, America is proud, and America is free.’

Even though Trump tries to fashion himself in the video he posted as some sort of master of global policy, he’s anything but that. He has repeatedly embarrassed the United States on the world stage, through such means as his capitulation to nations like Saudi Arabia and Russia. In another notable instance of Trump’s glaring incompetence when it comes to actually “making deals” with interests external to the United States, Trump announced earlier this year that he intends to withdraw from the Paris Climate Accord.

No matter how many lofty tweets that the president posts, he’s just never going to be able to get around the fact of his glaring incompetence.
