Donald Trump’s behavior may seem completely erratic at times, but when he is under stress his response to crisis is pretty predictable at this point. One thing we can all be sure of is that he is going to continue unraveling and that he is going to get more insane as the pressure builds.
We’ve seen this response from Trump whenever a major scandal, investigation, or harsh criticism comes to light. Trump has his usual behaviors – deflect blame, brag about himself, lie his a** off, create distractions, and attack everyone else. And that’s exactly how he’s reacting to the bombshell report that Special Counsel Robert Mueller is hitting some of Trump’s former aides with indictments, arrests and all.
This major move by Mueller was announced yesterday, and it’s terrifying news for Trump and all his minions. And in typical Trump fashion, Trump responded to the news with his usual tactics – attacking the “fake news” media and praising himself.
This morning, Trump began his Saturday by pretty much pretending that the Mueller report never happened as he attacked the media. Trump wrote:
“Very little reporting about the GREAT GDP numbers announced yesterday (3.0 despite the big hurricane hits). Best consecutive Q’s in years!”
Then, Trump decided that wasn’t enough bragging because he brought up comments made by President Jimmy Carter:
“Just read the nice remarks by President Jimmy Carter about me and how badly I am treated by the press (Fake News). Thank you Mr. President!”
Trump knows all about the new step in Mueller’s investigation – he is just going out of his way not to publicly acknowledge it. We can expect several more ridiculous tweets from Trump this weekend, as we all know that this is the calm before a major meltdown.
