It’s been a hard couple of weeks for Trump’s presidency. With repeated crises testing his abilities as president, he’s come up short time and time again – and his approval rating has started to reflect that, dropping to its lowest point yet.

Trump, somewhat predictably, has taken to twitter to rage about…things. It’s not exactly clear, but he’s definitely mad at something, particularly NBC. By all indications, he’s mad about coverage regarding Rex Tillerson, his Secretary of State, allegedly calling him a “moron.” NBC broke that story on Wednesday. Now, Tillerson denies the events ever took place, but it appears that his job is in danger anyway – even the appearance of disloyalty is enough to lose Trump’s favor. Even as he’s saying the story is not true, he’s questioning Tillerson and may fire him over it. In fact, the Washington rumor mill already has Mike Pompeo, the current CIA director, as a possible name for the position.

According to Donald Trump, “NBC News is so knowingly inaccurate with their reporting. The good news is the PEOPLE get it, which is really all that matters! Not #1.”

He must’ve seen some unflattering coverage of himself this morning before lashing out. It’s interesting that he chose the phrase “knowingly inaccurate,” calling NBC liars without quite calling them liars. Trump, of course, shows some incredible nerve on any occasion he chooses to call out falsehoods; with 75 percent of the things that come out of his mouth being utter bull, he just may be the lying-est president in history. It’s also interesting he said “the PEOPLE get it.” With his approval rating hovering around 32 percent right now, it’s not quite sure who those “people” are that he’s referring to. Perhaps family members, cabinet, or the other people he keeps around himself to tell him what he wants to hear. I mean, if you can’t live in a bubble of self-delusion surrounded by yes men, what’s the point of even being president, right?

Here’s the tweet in question:

Many of those on twitter who apparently don’t “get it” took this opportunity to tear into him:

The social media commentators are right – he should just resign.
