A man was killed in a car crash Wednesday morning after allegedly stabbing his ex-wife and her mother and fleeing the scene.

The unnamed man, 30, died when his car collided with a truck on a road near the southern city of Arad.

Magen David Adom paramedics declared him dead shortly after finding him unconscious and trapped in his car at the scene of the crash.

Police later identified the man as the chief suspect in a stabbing incident that had taken place earlier in the day in the West Bank settlement of Ma’ale Adumim.

He was suspected of stabbing his ex-wife and her mother in their home before fleeing the scene.

The car crash took place less than an hour after the incident.

The two women were evacuated to Haddassah Ein Kerem Hospital in Jerusalem.

The hospital said the younger of the two, a 33-year-old, was in serious condition with stab wounds to her upper body.

Her mother, 53, was in moderate condition.
