Fox News host Jesse Watters has found himself in some hot water after making what critics claim was a remark with a sexual undertone in regards to Ivanka Trump. This has just further fueled Fox’s critics who have routinely accused the network of cultivating a sexist work environment.
‘It’s funny. The left says they really respect women and then when given an opportunity to respect a woman like that they boo and hiss … so I don’t really get what’s going on here, but I really liked how she was speaking into that microphone.’
Watters said this statement while gesturing with his hand to his mouth, while grinning like a school boy at his co-hosts.
Many important figures in media went to twitter to express how grotesque they found Watters’ actions.
In a statement from Watters he said that his remarks were out of context and that the intention was not to be sexually in any way shape or form. He claimed:
‘During the break we were commenting on Ivanka’s voice and how it was low and steady and resonates like a smooth jazz radio DJ. This was in no way a joke about anything else.’
Fox New’s could not be having a worse time right now. As they attempt to nurture their bruised reputation back to health after cutting Bill O’Reilly and former chairman Roger Ailes over sexual harassment allegations they have yet another person working under them under fire for sexual remarks.
